Ingredients
2 cups heavy cream
1 cup whole milk
¾ cup granulated sugar
½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
½ teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
For the Peanut Butter Swirl:
½ cup peanut butter (creamy or crunchy)
2 tablespoons powdered sugar
¼ cup milk (for thinning peanut butter)
Instructions
Make the Ice Cream Base: In a saucepan over low heat, warm the milk and granulated sugar, stirring until the sugar dissolves.
Whisk in the cocoa powder and salt until the mixture is smooth and lump-free. Remove from heat.
Stir in the heavy cream and vanilla extract, then cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours (or overnight) until fully chilled.
Churn the Ice Cream: Pour the chilled mixture into an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer’s instructions (about 20 minutes).
Prepare the Peanut Butter Swirl: In a small bowl, mix peanut butter, powdered sugar, and milk until smooth and drizzle-ready.
Swirl It In: When the ice cream reaches a soft-serve consistency, drizzle the peanut butter mixture into the ice cream as it churns.
Freeze Until Firm: Transfer to a container, cover, and freeze for at least 4 hours until firm.
Scoop, serve, and enjoy the best Chocolate Peanut Butter Ice Cream ever!
Notes
For a stronger peanut butter flavor, double the swirl mixture.
✔ Use natural peanut butter for a more intense nutty taste.
✔ Want extra crunch? Add chopped peanuts or mini chocolate chips before freezing.
✔ No ice cream maker? Freeze the mixture in a shallow dish, stirring every 30 minutes for 2-3 hours for a smooth texture.
