Ingredients
2 cups whole milk (or your preferred milk)
1 cup heavy cream (optional, for creamier texture)
¾ cup sugar
1 tablespoon vanilla extract (or other flavoring of choice)
Instructions
Prepare the Base: In a mixing bowl, whisk together the milk, heavy cream (if using), and sugar until the sugar completely dissolves.
Add Flavor: Stir in the vanilla extract (or any other flavors you’d like).
Chill the Mixture: Place the bowl in the fridge for at least 30 minutes.
Churn the Ice Cream (Two Methods):
With an Ice Cream Maker: Pour the mixture into the ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer’s instructions (about 20-25 minutes).
Without an Ice Cream Maker: Pour the mixture into a shallow pan and freeze. Every 30 minutes, stir vigorously with a fork to break up ice crystals. Repeat for 2-3 hours until thick and creamy.
Freeze and Set: Transfer the ice cream to an airtight container and freeze for another 2-3 hours until firm.
Serve and Enjoy! Scoop and enjoy with your favorite toppings!
Notes
For a dairy-free version, use coconut milk or almond milk instead of dairy milk.
If using only milk (without cream), expect a slightly icier texture.
To make chocolate ice cream, whisk in ¼ cup cocoa powder before chilling.
To prevent ice crystals, press plastic wrap directly onto the surface before freezing.
Best enjoyed within a week for optimal freshness!
